Side Arc V: The Incredible Starfish Whisperer | Side Arc VII: Pikri Alitheia |
In Hell, Bones, Silver Blue, Vinci, Lita, Bashful and Cliff are sitting around a campfire discussing the ways they died. Bones recounts how he was killed by a man who set him on fire while masturbating, and that he was sentenced to Hell because he killed someone while in high school. Silver Blue tries to disagree with Bones' interpretation, but he angrily rebuffs here.
Bashful jokes that he drove off a cliff while listening to Weird Al Yankovic's "Christmas at Ground Zero." Everyone seems amused by this, except Bones.
Bashful then prompts Vinci to share his story, and Vinci says that his cancer had returned, and even though the doctors were optimistic he could recover, his partner Arty had been dead for a year and he felt he couldn't go on anymore. He overdosed on pills, hoping to be greeted with Arty in the afterlife, only to be sent to Hell instead.
Jack arrives and Bashful, Bones and Cliff start prompting him to tell how he died. When Jack says he can't remember, they don't believe him and keep pressing for answers. He abruptly becomes Wrathful and angrily threatens them, leaving them in shame when Silver Blue talks him down. The mood ruined, the group calls it a night.
Silver Blue and Vinci follow Jack despite him wanting to be alone, crying to himself. He admits that his blowing up at the group seems to be a recurring problem with him getting harder to control his angry emotions, feeling his original personality is starting to take over. As he leaves, Vinci expresses remorse than he can't help Jack redeem himself, but Silver Blue says it's not what they can do for Jack, but what he needs to do for himself.
