A brief flashback to Drip's early days in Hell before taking on the mantle of Sin of Lust shows him being tortured by some sort of higher ranking Hellbeast, perhaps a previous owner of the title of Sin of Wrath due to his wearing a similar cloak as Jack and wielding a scythe.
The creatures assaults and torments Drip, stealing his favorite scarf, causing Drip to scream in despair at the loss. Sometime later, another hellbeast finds the scarf and gives it to Fnar, who wears it as a kerchief around his neck.
