Short VII: Now I'm Nothing | Short IX: Central |
An unnamed bug man is speaking solemnly about someone who has left him, accompanied by a female of his species. He's crying as he mentions how much he misses her, and his companion cries along with him, hinting cryptically that she's sorry. He seems to speak past her and toward someone else. When he tells his mysterious audience he won't commit suicide and will live on, his companion is relieved. It's revealed at the end that his companion is the ghost of his dead wife Daisy Tuttle, who he is unaware is with him, and he's been visiting her grave, talking to her headstone. Satisfied he'll be able to live without her, Daisy tells Jack, who is with her, they are free to go now.
