Pomfrans are heavenly creatures resembling a mix of birds and reptiles, who are capable of creating Sufferance Zones for the damned to confront their sins. They work with Angels and other beings with Heaven's permission to assist the deceased in working through sins and dealing with the aftermath of their actions.
When creating Sufferance Zones, Pomfrans will go into a trance and not wake up until instructed by their handler. They usually will not assist Sins or any other damned unless instructed by an Angel to do so.
Their personalities are innocent, curious creatures that enjoy to be hugged and cuddled. They have been seen with battle damage, and it's unknown if they can defend themselves.
In Heaven, Pomfrans are spotted throughout the Common area in the main hub city, functioning like squirrels or other animals co-habiting with mortals on Earth.
Trivia[]
The Pomfram has its origin in the unrelated David Hopkins story "Rework the Dead." This series is non-canon in the Jack universe but is referenced repeatedly in canon stories. In that setting, Pomfrans had powers that they could use to defensively to attack Reworks.
