Mother, nicknamed "Cottonmouth" and known colloquially as "God" to mortals, is the deity in the Jack universe. Appearing primarily as a feminine sheep, she is often referred to as 'He' or 'She' and accepts both identities.

Powers[]

Mother is the creator of all the realms of existence: Heaven, Hell, Purgatory and Earth for the purpose of mankind's destiny. Omnipotent and omniscient, she establishes the rules of the universe and assigns her followers the duties of running existence. She created the Angels to help run most of the universe, initially a unique race of beings created expressly for this purpose and later former mortals elevated to this position in Heaven.

She remains a grey eminence in the universe, her influence subtly affecting world history and inspiring various actions and events. Her ultimate goals with mortals and existence remain unknown.

Personality[]

Mother has a happy-go-lucky attitude, and as her name suggests views herself as a maternal parent who is patient and understanding with her children, either mortals (living or dead) or beings she has created. She is a reluctant but strict disciplinarian, not wanting to send rebellious angels and mortals to Hell but having to do it for their own good.

She sees herself as an artist and was depicted creating the universe as a group project with her angels, led by Lucifer, providing feedback and suggestions for possibly problems with the universe. The devil sees Mother primarily as a male influence on him and refers to Mother as "Dad" on several occasions.

Mother once mentioned to Central that she “loves everyone” after asking Central if she is in love with a man or women. When Central says it's a man, Mother says, “Too bad, I was gonna ask you for her number.” Central had been referring to Mother as 'Mom”.

While Mother is omnipotent and omniscient, she is-by her own account-not infallible; She regrets aspects of creation, and incarnated (as Jesus Christ) to both experience the life and suffering of a mortal and offer a way to Heaven to those who consider themselves lost.

Once, when talking to an exceptional mortal, she apologized, and then disclosed that it is her intention that she will be one day succeeded by 'all of you'.
