Immortality is the principle of a being having eternal life and being removed from the normal life cycle. Beings that are naturally this way or achieve it through supernatural involvement are called immortals.

Natural Immortals[]

Divine beings such as Mother and her Angels are eternal and seemingly immune to death. Some can be injured, but not enough that they cease living.

Formerly Mortal Beings[]

Mortals can acheive immortality if some event happens that interrupts their planned appointment with death. This usually occurs if a supernatural being interferes with their lives right at the moment they were intended to die, such as interrupting them at a crucial moment and making them miss a fatal accidental or giving them advice that alters their live trajectory shortly before they would have died. Once this occurs, the person is now locked into their body for the rest of mortal time. They will not age, get sick, and any injury they sustain will heal within seconds, even normally fatal traumatic injuries. They can still feel pain during the period that they're injured, but will instantly be relieved when their body heals.

Supernatural beings usually leave immortals alone, and they in turn have no understanding of what has happened to them since Mother deliberately chose not to share this information. They are forced to make their own way in life and try to find purpose.

Interestingly enough, mortals can be killed before their scheduled time as well if supernatural beings interfere. This violation of their timespan does not result in immortality: a mortal can die at any moment prior to their scheduled time; it is only in preventing their deaths that immortality kicks in.

Deceased[]

Although technically the deceased are not immortal since their lifespan has ended, the souls of the formerly living continue to exist in the Afterlife for eternity in a form of spiritual immortality. Souls in Hell and Purgatory will eventually be returned to Earth to live again. Once a soul reaches the end of their journey and arrives in Heaven, they will continue to exist forever in Paradise.
