Hell is the plane were dammed souls are sent. It is the home of fallen angels like the Devil, Sins, demonic beings and various Hellbeasts.
It is depicted as a nightmarish wasteland filled with corrupted versions of Earthly regions: mountains, valleys and cities populated by those deemed unworthy to be in God's presence and unrepentant for their actions in life or in rebelling against God. It is both a place of punishment where the former living are given karmic sentences for their actions on Earth, as well as a chaotic free-for-all where the evil are free to pursue whichever depraved pleasures they like while being both predator and prey amongst each other.
The Devil is the ultimate power in Hell, but avoids actively running the day-to-day actions of the realm and instead concerns himself with his own petty amusements and plotting ways to defy God's will. Instead, he actively seeks out the worst damned souls in Hell and offers them power by becoming the Sins, where they will rule the various factions of Hell and spend time trying to corrupt the living and fighting amongst themselves for control of Hell.
Any Hellish being that was originally alive can be killed in Hell, regardless of their strength and abilities, and when killed will respawn in a preselected area, reverted to the form Hell had chosen or allowed them to take. Souls may reside in Hell for decades, centuries or millennia, with the most powerful beings ruling kingdoms for eons.
Lost souls can escape from Hell by recognizing their sin, receiving God's forgiveness (either directly or through acts of redemption) and being given guidance by Heavenly agents. Formerly damned souls can have their eyes opened and continue to "live" in Hell to assist others to seek redemption, but all eventually are encouraged to leave and be reborn. All lost souls, even Sins, can seek redemption, but the more powerful a being is, the harder it is to reject the addictive and corrupting powers they have in Hell.
