A few years after the events of Arc XXII: My Mind Returns To Miller Hill, Jack is publicly speaking at a conference when he suddenly threatens to murder everyone in the room, before ripping out the throat one of his human handlers, Dr. Santon. It's revealed that Jack is in custody at the facility and being interviewed by Central. Their conversation reveals that Jack was under the control of Dr. Hudson without his knowing, another doctor in the program that was arguing with Santon over how to best utilize the vat-born beings. Jack and Central get along and see an opportunity to help each other.

Arc XLV: The Princess of Hell's Highlands Arc XLVII: You're So Mean


A private conversation between Jack and Dr. Kane reveals that Central was deceived, Jack was in control of his actions and killed Santon due to the rape and murder of his love Jill by one of the guards at the facility. Kane in turn only pushed the publicly accepted story of Jack being under Hudson's control to pin the blame on a troublesome co-worker and prevent further investigation uncovering his own unethical experiments.

Six months later, Jack is free and accompanying Central, who has become his press secretary, pushing Jack to become a civil rights advocate for vat-born beings. Jack is made aware that hundreds of vats similar to Miller Hill worldwide, with various species created for various occupations with varying degrees of freedoms. Jack over time becomes a symbol of freedom for newly freed furs, having meetings with them to encourage them to embrace their furry identities. His speeches are peppered with anti-human rhetoric which Central tries to curtail, stressing a more peaceful co-existence with humans. He meets Mr. Grimm during one such meeting.

Years later, Central has gone off on her own initiative and Grimm is now Jack's main advisor. Despite Jill's murderer having long been executed for his crimes, Jack is still harboring anti-human feelings that he lets slip in private conversations with his entourage. When Grimm expresses his discomfort with Jack's attitude, the rabbit privately lets his fellow anti-human companion Fiver know that Grimm is no longer apart of their inner circle.

Three years later, Grimm introduces his goddaughter Breezy to him, and while he's initially happy to make her acquaintance, Fiver shares the news that Central has been murdered by an anti-furry hate group called Humanity First. Despite their earlier falling out, Jack is still devastated his former friend and advisor is gone and sets Grimm off to publicly prepare a statement while he and Fiver conspire to take more drastic action. They begin work on a project meant to isolate furries from human society.

Jack and Breezy become a couple during the next two years though it's clear he's abusive toward her. They have a falling out when it's clear she's divulged too much information to Grimm, and Jack decides to go forward with his secret plans, code named Lucifer's Rebellion. He's forced to initiate the plan early, and Grimm and Breezy attempt to get to Washington DC however it's too late. A nuclear war is initiated, beginning the extinction of the human race. Jack's future Grim Reaper self watches the mushroom clouds form and relives his final moments when he asks not to remember these actions in his afterlife.
