Short XVIII: Fnar's Nose | Short XX: Mother |
Farrago is witnessing a horrific yet important moment in Drip's life: the moment he makes the mental choice to become a serial murderer/rapist. She watches helplessly as he tortures, abuses and kills a young lizard woman, all the time accompanied by Jack who explains Drip's motivations and what effect this event will have on his life. Farrago is motivated to intervene, but Jack repeatedly stops her, telling her this is a test and she must bare the burden of not acting to avoid influencing Drip's free will.
He eventually finishes his work and Jack has to collect the ghost of the woman, still in shock over what she experienced. When Farrago introduces herself, the woman asks why an angel wouldn't help her. Farrago is grief stricken as she leaves with Jack. Jack recalls back to the events of Arc IV: Falling Angels and says he wishes to take her up on her previous offer to help with his memories.
Farrago lingers at the site after Jack and the woman have left, questioning why Drip does what he does. She is suddenly visited by Kane, the sin of Envy. He makes several passive aggressive comments about her past actions while also admiring her body. Farrago angrily rebuffs him and leaves, but he is soon joined by Drip in sin form, and they both discuss Jack as the key to getting to Farrago. Kane wishes to have Farrago as his own and begins plotting on how to achieve this.
Later on, in Heaven, Farrago checks on the soul of the lizard woman, still feeling guilty about her inaction early and wanting to make sure she's well adjusted to the afterlife. Despite the trauma of her death, she now appears to be in good spirits and in her personal Heaven has recreated a crayon drawing she made as a kid as a livable environment. She plans to explore the area later, but for now is satisfied enjoying the view. She mentions that she had several fears in after her father abandoned her family, and she was concerned she'd be alone in Heaven, but was relieved to know her loved ones were there. She reveals to Farrago that her Heaven includes a shade of Drip, who is sad just like in real life but also knows he's powerless in this realm. She is happy that now she is no longer afraid.
